Deviation from the prices specified in the Certificate of Registration(5)

To all market authorization holders

Deviation from the prices specified in the Certificate of Registration

It has been brought to our notice that some market authorization holders bid for the government tenders quoting the unit prices higher than those mentioned on the relevant certificate of registration.

Retail prices agreed by the particular local agents are also an important factor that is considered in the decisions for accepting the dossiers, evaluating them on priority basis and granting registration for the particular medicines. Furthermore, as per provisions given in the National Medicines Regulatory Authority Act No 05 of 2015 NMRA has the power to decide the prices and it is specified in the certificate of Registration.

Hence NMRA would not hesitate to cancel the registration of such items which violates the conditions on registrations repeatedly, without prior notice.

Yours faithfully, Chief Executive Officer National Medicines Regulatory Authority
